Die Keith Bar ist ein Ort, an dem man sich auf Anhieb wohl und willkommen fühlt. Der kerzenbeleuchtete Barraum ist der perfekte Ort, um nach einem Fotoshooting auf dem Tempelhofer Feld für ein paar Drinks vorbei zu kommen – gemeinsam mit Freunden oder macht neue Freunde am Tresen.
Gil Corujeira, Mármore
Die Arbeit stellt den Moment direkt nach dem Aufprall dar, den Schwindel und den Verlust des Gleichgewichts. Die wenigen Sekunden des Wiedererwägens. Der Sekundenbruchteil, in dem man reagieren kann, wird nun durch ein getrübtes Urteilsvermögen untergraben, und während der Schmerz nachlässt, sagt der Verstand, man solle weglaufen. Das Werk ist nicht wörtlich zu nehmen, sondern als Metapher für jeden Konflikt, jede Herausforderung oder Bedrohung, die wir durchleben. Der Titel Mármore (Marmor) verweist auf die Idee des ungeschliffenen Edelsteins, des rohen, ungeschliffenen Elements, das erst geschliffen und gemeißelt werden muss, um von Wert zu sein.

The work depicts the moment right after impact, the dizziness and loss of balance. The few seconds of re-assessment. The split-second interval to react is now undermined by a clouded judgment and, as the pain sinks down, the mind is telling you to run. The work is not meant to be taken literally but as a metaphor for every conflict, challenge or threat we go through. The title Mármore (Marble) brings the idea of the uncut gem, the raw, rough element that needs to be carved and chiselled to be of any worth.
